Nan’s Story

If someone had told young Nancy “Nan” Berrian she’d one day become a professional writer, she would have laughed—and honestly, she still finds it a bit surprising.

Nan’s journey began in 7th grade, when her English teacher, Mrs. Restaino, held up Nan’s synopses of The Cherry Orchard and A Doll House as classroom examples. As a student who had quietly struggled in school, that recognition lit a spark.

Despite undiagnosed learning challenges—or perhaps because of them—Nan pursued a career in communications, spending many years writing for others in the corporate world. But she always held on to the dream of expressing herself through her own words. With her debut book, Vows, Wows, and WTF?! and one-woman show, Suicide Blonde, she’s finally doing just that—and like Grandma Moses, she’s glad she started before it was too late.

Nan lives in Pennsylvania’s picturesque Lehigh Valley with her daughter, their beloved three-legged rescue pup, and a mischievous cat. She enjoys concerts and the local arts scene with her partner, Mel, and treasures time spent with her large and loving extended family.
